Creating Provocations and Invitations to Play

Description
The terms Provocations and Invitations are derived from Raggio Emilia's approach which seeks to tap into children's interest to enhance play and learning. This learning module was created for Early Learning Educators using the Raggio Emilia approach to help understand how to create effective provocations and invitations to play in the classroom. Educators will learn while using Padlet, Quizlet and slideshows and engage in discussions on the features of effective provocations and invitations to play.

Intended Audience
This module was created for Early Learning Educators which includes, early childhood educators in childcare facilities and educators in the kindergarten classroom who untilize the Raggio Emilia approach to learning.
Learning Outcomes
After completing this WBLT, the user should be able to:
- Define provocations and invitations to play and their features in the early learning classroom
- Differentiate between provocations and invitation to play
- Identify and use the principles for setting up invitations
- Set up provocations and invitations to play to encourage student engagement
