Registered Nurses and Registered Practical Nurses working in long term care and retirement facilities
Learning Outcomes
After completing this WBLT, the user should be able to:
1) Define essential oil recognizing that chemical constituents are responsible for therapeutic properties.
2) Identify the different administration routes characterizing benefits and administration safety.
3) Demonstrate the nursing process when assessing clients and utilizing essential oils
4) Demonstrate knowledge surrounding the creation of essential oil properties, blending and determining appropriate dilutions.
5) Understand essential oil first aid and contraindications.
6) Demonstrate knowledge surrounding essential oil use in nursing practice as it relates to College of Nurses of Ontario nursing standards and legislation
