Description
The first section of the WBLT explains how the problem based learning methodology can be applied to solve a community problem. The second part of the WBLT explains how to present the PBL process, including the solution, in a written business case format.

Intended Audience
This WBLT provides a framework for second year college students in a justice program on how to use problem based learning to solve a community problem provided by an outside agency and how to present the process, including the solution, in a business case format.
Learning Outcomes
After completing this WBLT, the user should be able to:
- Assess a community problem, recommend strategies, and analyze the solution utilizing the problem-based learning method
- Communicate clearly, concisely and correctly in the written, spoken, and visual form that fulfills the purpose and meets the needs of the community agency
- Work cooperatively in multidisciplinary teams to achieve mutual goals
- Be able to use a variety of thinking skills and resources to solve a community problem
